The Mountain Top Historical Society is located at 5132 Route 23A in Haines Falls, NY along one of New York State’s most beautiful scenic byways.
Our 40-acre campus sits at the top of Kaaterskill Clove, the site of New York State’s second-highest waterfall. The beauty of the clove and waterfall drew artists and writers of the 19th century, launched the Hudson River School of art and continues to draw thousands of visitors every year.
Our campus, including access to the Kaaterskill Rail Trail, is open every day of the year.
The Visitors' Center is OPEN for the season when volunteers are available.
