of the writings of Irving, Cole, Bryant, Cooper et al by the owner of the
famous Catskill Mt House. The publisher of this reprint has added
illustrations by Harry Fenn that alone make this worth the $8.95 cover price.

Northampton, Mass 1894. Reprinted by Hope Farm Press 1971
and later editions. A wonderful book that captures in text,
and images the summer of 1893 in Greene County.
- Evers,Alf: The Catskills From Wilderness to Woodstock, Doubleday
& Company, Garden City, New York, 1972 and later editions. This
is the book on the Catskill Region.
- Helmer, William F: Rip Van Winkle Railroads, Black Dome Press,
Hensonville, NY 1999. A profusely illustrated book on the narrow
gauge railroads that served the resort industry of the Greene County Catskills.
- Munroe, Kirk, SUMMER IN THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS Facsimile edition
by J. C. & A. Fawcett, Inc. Astoria, NY. A reprint of the 1884
tourism guide to the Catskills with almost half its pages devoted to Rail
Road charts and routes, with a fold out map of the Mt. Top.

area around North Lake and the Old Mountain House Grounds.
- Titus, Robert: The Catskills: A Geological Guide
, Purple Mountain Press, Fleishmanns, New York, 1993. A
popular account of the Geology of the Catskills. Bob Titus
has great skill in taking the reader back in time to visualize
the forces that formed this beautiful landscape.

Press, Fleishmanns, New York, 1996. Another fine popularization
by the Catskill Geologist.
- Van Loan, Walton, Catskill Mountain Guide. Catskill, NY
1879. Facsimile edition by J. C. & A. Fawcett, Inc. Astoria,
NY, 1994. The Guide used by Mountain House guests. A
primary source if you want to know if you are standing at the same
Bowlder Rock (you are), or Sunset Rock (you're not) as 19
th Century resorters.
- Van Zant, Roland, The Catskill Mountain House. Rutgers
1966 Reissued by Black Dome Press, Hensonville, NY. The definitive
work on the Mountain House and it's relation to the Romantic
Movement.
