In the Early 1950s North - South Lake was the home of
Rip's Retreat, a tourist attraction with a Rip Van Winkle theme. The
society was recenty given Ron Hoose's extensive collection of Rip memorabilia.
Among the collection were several postcards, a brochure and a coloring
book. They tell the story of the attraction.
