Bowlder Rock
A Glacial erratic that was too large to meet the fate
of many rocks perched at the edge of the Wall of Manitu, must have tempted
many vacationers who enjoyed rolling smaller boulders over the edge.
Bowlder rock is on the escarpment trail, about half way between the
Mountain House site and the site of the Hotel Kaaterskill (which can be
seen in the postcard.)
Van Loan's Catskill Mountain Guide
consistently uses the spelling "bowlder" while other references
use the modern "boulder"
