Two early postcards show the U & D station that is now the Mountain
Top Historical Society's headquarters. A great deal of work has been done
to save the station. The roof has been restored, interior partitions
(added by an owner who used it for a home) had to be removed. Wainscoting
which was hidden under sheetrock walls was uncovered and cleaned.
New wainscoting was made to duplicate the original. Windows which had been
lowered by the previous owner were returned to their original positions.
Lighting, appropriate to the period was installed. The heating system was
replaced... The list goes on.
The station has served as the location of several events.
You can see the station and the rest of our grounds and buildings at this summer's Open House .

And please remember, the work is not done. We still need your help to build this site into a true Mountain Top Resource at the gateway to our area.
