Based on 19th century trail descriptions and the overall positioning of the rocks, we believe we found the site known to visitors of the Catskill Mountain House as Druid Rocks.  Although no individual rock is as dramatic as the illustrations in the old guides, the overall appearance of the site fits the early descriptions very well.

Possibly the rock illustrated in 19th century prints of Druid Rocks such as the illustration to the left.
